Choosing gymnastics equipment for children

Choosing gymnastics equipment for children requires considering various factors, including age, skill level, safety, and available space. Here are some basic selection points:

Consider age and skill level

Young children (3-5 years old): Children in this age group are suitable for simple, easy-to-use equipment, such as small flags, rhythm sticks, and small hoops. These lightweight pieces of equipment help develop their coordination and sense of rhythm.

For balance beams, choose low-height, wide, soft balance beams, such as a 40020/3030cm trapezoidal soft balance beam.

Foam-based equipment, such as foam cylinders and foam hexagons, can also be used for simple climbing and rolling exercises.

Middle-aged children (6-8 years old): As their skills improve, slightly more challenging equipment can be chosen, such as jump ropes and small dumbbells.

For balance beams, choose those with adjustable height, such as aluminum alloy balance beams with a height adjustment range of 70-110cm. Single bars and parallel bars can also be included, but pay attention to height and stability. For example, adjustable height children's gymnastics single bars and parallel bars with a height range of 1.3-1.7 meters can be chosen.

Older children (9 years and older): For older children with some gymnastics experience, the equipment selection can be closer to professional levels, such as standard-sized rings and vaulting boxes.

The rings should have a height of 1.3-1.7 meters from the ground, with ring dimensions similar to competition rings and a ring spacing of 50cm. Soft vaulting boxes with a height of 0.3-1.2 meters can be chosen.
